Introduction: 

21st Century Learning, Curriculum Design, and Implementation (The Power of Positive Leadership (A course created by Bathsheba Smithen working in cooperation with Oulu University Teacher Training School, Finland)

The educational landscape is changing at an exponential rate. The digital divide is becoming more apparent in this tectonic shift and achievement gaps are widening. School districts across the world are attempting to grapple with the inevitable shifts taking place in every industry,  directly impacting students, parents, and teachers.  

21st Century Learning, Curriculum Design, and Implementation is a course that prepares educational leaders for a global mindset, admonishing budding leaders to consider the necessary components for a new style of learning—one where cultural, social, and emotional learning are essential. It presents additional components for the 21st Century Learner to include those managing online and traditional classrooms, as well as those designing curricula.  

Objectives:  

  1. Identify the essential elements of 21st Century learning  
  2. Design ways to integrate key components of 21st century learning modalities into blended  learning models
